Vice President of Supply Chain Strategy and Insights

Julie McGill is the Vice President of Supply Chain Strategy and Insights at Trustwell, a leading SaaS provider of food safety compliance, traceability, and supply chain transparency solutions. In her role, Julie monitors food regulations, is engaged with evolving industry work, and works with Trustwell customers and internal teams to advise and educate on impacts to the food supply chain.

Before joining Trustwell, Julie spent over 16 years at GS1 US. She led initiatives in foodservice, convenience, and retail grocery, working with industry stakeholders to enhance business processes. She also headed up the Data Management group at Transora, which was one of the first GDSN data pools.

Julie started her food and beverage career at Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado, working with their distributors to implement EDI for convenience and grocery retailers.

She serves as a co-chair of the Produce Traceability Initiative Technology Workgroup and sits on other various industry workgroups covering topics including food safety, traceability, interoperability, and supply chain management. 

Ray M. Poinsette

Beaver Street Fisheries, Inc.

Director of Process Improvement

Ray Poinsette has been working for Beaver Street Fisheries (BSF) for 14 years as the Director of Process Improvement. He leads the Process Excellence Department, which is responsible for a) the LEAN Six Sigma Initiative, b) Product Information Management, c) the SharePoint Intranet and Extranet initiative for the organization and d) plant compliance. Prior to joining BSF Ray worked for Convergys Corporation and CSX Transportation in positions as Trainmaster, HR Business Unit Six Sigma Black Belt, Finance Director, Terminal Process Improvement Black Belt, and Chief of Staff to the business unit President. Ray attended the US Naval Academy for his undergraduate studies, Jacksonville University for his MBA, and he is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Prior to moving to Jacksonville FL Ray served as a Logistics Officer in the US Marine Corps and was stationed at various bases & ports around the World.

Benji Berg

Traceability Lead

Benji Berg serves as the Traceability Lead for Chick-fil-A, developing strategy and collaborating with supply chain partners to implement operational and technology solutions to support end-to-end traceability.

Before joining Chick-fil-A, Benji worked as a consultant for a supply chain management firm, enVista. He led a variety of projects focused on process improvement, network strategy, master data management, shipment visibility, and traceability.

Prior to enVista, Benji began his career at Toys R Us working on omnichannel inventory management. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in supply chain management.
